Guidance on the thresholds for different levels of need and intervention which meet the needs of all children in the borough.
About this guidance
This document is a vital tool that underpins the local vision to provide the right support for children and their families at the earliest opportunity – right through to specialist and statutory interventions when needed to ensure the welfare and safety of vulnerable children and young people.
It aims to offer a clear framework and promote a common understanding of thresholds of need for all practitioners within all agencies.

The WSCP has arrangements in place to respond to and review child deaths in their borough, as outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 and the Child Death Statutory and Operational Guidance England (Oct 2018).
The WSCP follows the St Georges Hospital Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Child Death Reviews (April 2021) drawn up by St Georges Hospital/South West London Integrated Commissioning Board.
These guidelines will be used in the event of an unexpected child death and will be followed by every agency.
Wandsworth Safeguarding Children Partnership and its member agencies are signatories to the London Safeguarding Children Procedures (LSCP) as our local procedures.
You may access the London Procedures at the London Safeguarding Children Procedures Website
The London Safeguarding Children Procedures are based on current legislation and the latest edition of national statutory guidance: Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2023
